I’ve spent the past 3 weeks collecting new tunes for you as well as traveling overseas. “Promise” is a roller coaster of music starting off with Sweater Beats’ se(xxx)y “Ciara” remix, followed by today’s indie-rock titans The 1975’s love-anthem “The City.” We welcome back the Haim sisters with their latest funk’d-out tune “Falling.” Sky Ferreira’s “Everything…” has been out for a minute but Krystal Klear has given the tune a whole new life with his remix. Disclosure recently released their debut record and have been receiving lots of great reviews. Their latest remix for Artful Dodger is full of delicious UK Garage beats. Prepare to “turn the lights down” when Elaksi & Wayvee take the stage with “Does.” Nkata, Cliendl, Falcons, and Sane Beats close “Promise” with upbeat jams filled with bass, groove, and more bass.

The next 34 minutes are a journey from relaxed and sexy to upbeat to real hood shit. Be prepared. Queen of R&B Cassie opens up the mix, followed by my current No. 1 Producer/Cat Lover. WISKIM lays down some chilly liquid beats behind King of R&B's “Sure Thing,” while Jeftuz shows us a tribute to Janet J. Cashmere Cat is trillhunted twice because that man is doing such big things (August SF!). This Joywave remix is the first of RAC's I've really dug in a while. Keeping it upbeat, a remix from VILLΛGE of an equally meritable original, till we start to go hard with beat anthem “Killa Cats”. And then that Lindsay Lowend remix of Hawaii's best trapped secret Mr. Carmack. Damn. Closing is a more-than-perfect melodious mix of two pretty amazing original tracks.
A few years ago we started trading mixtapes as a fun way to share new (or old) songs that we thought our brother-from-another-mother (or sister-from-another-mister) might enjoy. It began with a simple set of parameters — 10 tracks and a title — and quickly* became this little site where we can share with the world the mixtapes we've shared with each other.
* This site was completed in under 24 hours on a chilly, winter evening warmed by the glows of our computers.
