“Flex” starts with an easy-going House remix of Mereki’s “Blue Lake.” I was going to put the original version of this song on Family Knux a long time ago but found WMNSTUDIES’ remix to be more fun to listen to. Next is one of the latest singles off Pennybirdrabbit’s latest EP “For Love.” Drew Love sets the bar for R&B with his deep track “Sex-capades.” The following three tracks feature some of my fav’e Jersey Club producers—DJ Hoodboi, Falcons, Trippy Turtle, DJ Sliink, and the homie Mack Blajik. Take a mid-mix break as Atlantic Connection helps you forget about all your troubles. N.Y.C.’s Awkwafina brings jokes and fun back to Hip-Hop. We’re flying to Seoul, Korea for a minute to catch T.O.P.’s latest track before heading back to the ’states to chill with Atu’s “Way I Feel.”

Soak up this rain! Here's a set of songs for driving in your car for an hour while a storm picks up. A melodic intro from CBR./Yung Chloe Martini to get you slowly ready for the journey. Then Ticklish adds some drums to a classic for an awesome throwback. Slowly add more gas with the next two house tracks - returns from Lana Del Rey, ViLLAGE, Justin Martin, and Ultraista – and then a bit more gas with the next three jersey club tracks. Then take your foot off the pedal, park that shit in cruise control, and enjoy this *supremely* good cover of the Spice Girls. Sing along, you know the words. Recent fave of mine, Tajan, and Pascäal take it home with two of the chillest, most serenely liquid and mesmerizing beats.
A few years ago we started trading mixtapes as a fun way to share new (or old) songs that we thought our brother-from-another-mother (or sister-from-another-mister) might enjoy. It began with a simple set of parameters — 10 tracks and a title — and quickly* became this little site where we can share with the world the mixtapes we've shared with each other.
* This site was completed in under 24 hours on a chilly, winter evening warmed by the glows of our computers.

Jackie is an interaction designer living and working in the Bay Area, often at the side of a cat who think's he's a dog, her best friend, and her favorite things: design, music and food. She created Family Knux as a place where she can give you two out of three. Maybe one day you'll get all three. Hmm.
