“Alpha” eases in with an air-y bass driven tune by Cleindl. Next comes Ozzie’s minimalistic “U” with chopped-up vocals and subtle pianos. We pick things up with Chordashian’s and Moon Boots’ Indie Dance and Nu Disco tunes. Moon Boots did such a great re-work of Total’s “Can’t You See.” TACHES wraps things up with a pulsing House remix of 23-year-old sensation John Newman’s hit “Losing Sleep.” The latter half of this mix jumps genres pretty drastically. First, a trap remix of Ludacris’ “Party Girls.” The wonderful ladies of 2NE1 follow with a great R&B/Pop tune. Kappa Kavi and Jailo unleash their Jersey Club remix of Gwen Stefani. PromNite’s highly sought-after remix of R. Kelly keeps things secksi. We end with Liz’s AMAZING ‘90s/love/R&B/Sailor Moon tune “Y2K.”

Opening up this mix is an instrumental cover of Debarge's classic Soul original, followed by my fave track from LIZ's new EP, feat. production work from Djemba Djemba, Colta, and Mike Parvizi. I'm putting bets on Doja Cat blowing up, her original sing/rap style in "So High" is intoxicating. Odesza makes a return this month - check out the rest of the Pilerats compilation for another stellar collection. Ruddyp's remix of HTDW has been on repeat for me as of late. Peep Big Wild and the Cosmonostro label for some game changing beats. The mix closes out with two summery trap songs from some dudes I just discovered: LOLO BX bringing that Aussie sound and Milo Mills out of Austria.
A few years ago we started trading mixtapes as a fun way to share new (or old) songs that we thought our brother-from-another-mother (or sister-from-another-mister) might enjoy. It began with a simple set of parameters — 10 tracks and a title — and quickly* became this little site where we can share with the world the mixtapes we've shared with each other.
* This site was completed in under 24 hours on a chilly, winter evening warmed by the glows of our computers.
