I didn’t think Banks’ “Brain” could get any better but Fei Fei proved me wrong with her awesome hypnotic remix. Next is a new track off Iggy Azalea’s long awaited debut full-length “The New Classic.” I’m pretty sure this song is about A$AP Rocky. Elliphant is a new artist for me. Her latest record features some really cool production, and “Revolusion” is my favorite—such a big tune. No strangers to Family Knux—Blood Diamonds, Tinashé, Lil Texas, and Lana Del Rey—return with awesome remixes for our listening pleasure. ’Texas’ remix just drips late-’90s R&B. #love We shift to some upbeat Garage tunes with Sorrow, and Fybe:one’s remix. Get emotional with WoodysProduce’s remix before ending on party-vibes with Jesse Slayter’s remix of “Tamagotchi.”

Yet another French talent from Cosmonostro, Noï. Yummy future hop. Chiefs puts a spin on Crooked Colours and comingles trap, downtempo, and indie. We get a little hood with some remixes of Juicy J and Sage the Gemini. Dude, I don't care if the original is overplayed or overremixed. This one is worth it. My faves at Future Classic have yet another vibin' track from LDRU and Yahtzel. Tinashe gets a little housey care of Pomo, and newcomer Drek Martinez comes through with a catchy original. If you know me, you know I fux with some Bieber, especially with a blissful remix like OBESØN's. 2 of my faves on this sexy Cassie track, and to close out this theme of awesome collabs is Lido and everyone's fave sad Swede, Yung Lean.
A few years ago we started trading mixtapes as a fun way to share new (or old) songs that we thought our brother-from-another-mother (or sister-from-another-mister) might enjoy. It began with a simple set of parameters — 10 tracks and a title — and quickly* became this little site where we can share with the world the mixtapes we've shared with each other.
* This site was completed in under 24 hours on a chilly, winter evening warmed by the glows of our computers.

Jackie is an interaction designer living and working in the Bay Area, often at the side of a cat who think's he's a dog, her best friend, and her favorite things: design, music and food. She created Family Knux as a place where she can give you two out of three. Maybe one day you'll get all three. Hmm.
