Vol. 56 debuts Shura, a new artist making a big name for herself with this sweet/dreamy single. The next remix may be one of the saddest R&B songs I’ve ever heard—def’ Sadderdays vibes. On the flip side are vacation-ready tunes by Cassie and Anna Lunoe. Crush’s and Lydia Paek’s voices are just too perfect together. This “punchy” remix of Sevyn Streeter slays. I absolutely love All About She bringing the Big-Room hit “Tsunami” to the clubs with their vibe-y remix. Even though Grimes wrote this for Rihanna, I wouldn’t want to hear anyone else singing "Go." Access your inner sea mammal with Dolphin Tears’ remix of pop sensation Ariana Grandé.

I've been really into this reverie-bent/jazz-influenced/kawaii-inspired music that's been popping up everywhere. Listen to the first 3 tracks for a bit of that flavor. Even the Akouo track has a bit of that jazz feel, with a more future beat vibe, which transitions to the next stage of the mix. First my favorite remix from one my favorite releases this year, GoldLink's The God Complex. You might remember the beat from the next track from Vol. 51, the perfect backdrop for a now future R&B love song. Jeremih & Shlohmo FINALLY released their long-awaited collab. Been waiting a long time to "own" Bo Peep. Then Quadron gets spiced up in this housey interpretation by Urulu. I expect we'll hear a lot more from Moving Castle newcomer Mark Johns - she has the perfect subtle and sweet voice for the genre.
A few years ago we started trading mixtapes as a fun way to share new (or old) songs that we thought our brother-from-another-mother (or sister-from-another-mister) might enjoy. It began with a simple set of parameters — 10 tracks and a title — and quickly* became this little site where we can share with the world the mixtapes we've shared with each other.
* This site was completed in under 24 hours on a chilly, winter evening warmed by the glows of our computers.

She created Family Knux as a place where she can give you two out of three. Maybe one day you'll get all three. Hmm.
