“Jewel“ opens up with moods of love and hope by Sweden's Postiljonen and LA’s Goldroom. Ms Mr’s “Hurricane“ mirrors life in a busy city during November, 1994. Moombahton keeps getting sexier, especially with this rendition of Jeremny Glenn’s “New Life.“ The Haim sisters caught my ear with the first note of their undeniably catch-y tune. Bondax must be mind-readers b/c their remix of Aluna George has almost every element Jackie and I like–R&B vocals, bounce, bangin’ bass, etc. Giraffage keeps the energy going with his remix of Tinashé. If I had to sum up this playlist with one song, it would be Lemonade’s “Soft Kiss”. Andrea‘s remix of 123Mrk gives us a break before Fool’s Gold carries us back to school with the perfect end-of-summer jam.

I love working. I love making things and solving problems and listening to music while I do it. “Extra Credit” is a collection of tracks to grind to from some of my new favorite producers. It starts with MVSCLES, weird but infectiously sprinkled with exuberant “Woo's!”. I haven't met a “Me & U” remix I didn't like, and Brackles' is no exception. “Kiss Me” might feature the most unique vocal sampling I've heard to date. Kidnap Kid, Giraffage, xxyyxx, Teen Daze, and Jamie xx are among my current favorite producers that fall somewhere between a mix of garage/house/lo-fi. And Dj Sliink, Ryan Hemsworth, Hesk, Thomas White, and Baauer are recent faves of the hip-hop/trap/juke persuasion. Start with these songs, but investigate any of these artists and you're gonna have a good time.
A few years ago we started trading mixtapes as a fun way to share new (or old) songs that we thought our brother-from-another-mother (or sister-from-another-mister) might enjoy. It began with a simple set of parameters — 10 tracks and a title — and quickly* became this little site where we can share with the world the mixtapes we've shared with each other.
* This site was completed in under 24 hours on a chilly, winter evening warmed by the glows of our computers.
